"O Ruqhoyya, write!
I am Allah, the Most Fulfiller of Promises. Wait for My punishment that will spread everywhere!
From the beginning I bear witness until nearly the end of My Testimony, indeed only 313 people have believed in Me—Allah bears witness.
When I issued My Call to the 'Right-hand Group' after the earlier group believed in Me—Allah bears witness—you are all the same... Indeed, I, Allah, will summon you with severe decrees, and punishment will spread everywhere.
Open Surah Al-Hadid, from verse 1 until the end, O Ruqhoyya!"
Surah Al-Hadid
Bismillaahirrahmaanirrahiim
Meaning:
Verse 1:
"Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth glorifies Allah (proclaims His greatness). And He is the Almighty, the All-Wise."
Verse 2:
"To Him belongs dominion over the heavens and the earth. He gives life and causes death, and He is Almighty over all things."
Verse 3:
"He is the First and the Last, the Manifest and the Hidden, and He has full knowledge of all things."
Verse 4:
"He it is Who created the heavens and the earth in six days, then He ascended the Throne. He knows what enters the earth and what comes out of it, what descends from the sky and what ascends to Him. And He is with you wherever you are. And Allah sees what you do."
Verse 5:
"To Him belongs dominion over the heavens and the earth. And to Allah all matters are returned."
Verse 6:
"He merges the night into the day and merges the day into the night. And He knows what is in the hearts."
Verse 7:
"Believe in Allah and His Messenger, and spend from your wealth which Allah has made you trustees over. Then those among you who believe and spend (from their wealth) will have a great reward."
Verse 8:
"And why do you not believe in Allah, while His Messenger calls you to believe in your Lord? Indeed, He has already taken your covenant, if you are truly believers."
Verse 9:
"He it is Who sent down upon His servant clear verses (the Qur’an), to bring you forth from darkness into light. Indeed, Allah is to you Most Kind, Most Merciful."
Verse 10:
"And why do you not spend in the way of Allah, while to Allah belongs the inheritance of the heavens and the earth? Those among you who spent (their wealth) and fought before the conquest (of Makkah) are not equal to those who spent and fought afterwards. They are higher in rank than those who followed. And Allah has promised each of them goodness. And Allah is well-acquainted with what you do."
Verse 11:
"Whoever lends to Allah a goodly loan, He will multiply it for him, and grant him a generous reward."
Verse 12:
"(That will be) on the Day when you see the believing men and women, their light shining before them and to their right, (it will be said), 'Today there is good news for you: Gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein you will abide eternally. That is the great success.'"
Verse 13:
"On the Day when the hypocritical men and women will say to those who believed, 'Wait for us, so that we may take some of your light.' It will be said to them, 'Turn back and seek light for yourselves.' Then a wall will be placed between them with a gate—inside it is mercy, and outside it is punishment."
Verse 14:
"The hypocrites will call out to them, saying, 'Were we not with you?' They will reply, 'Yes, but you caused harm to yourselves, waited (for our downfall), doubted, and were deceived by false hopes until the decree of Allah came. And you were deceived about Allah by the deceiver (Satan).'"
Verse 15:
"So today no ransom will be accepted from you or from the disbelievers. Your abode is the Fire. That is your refuge. And it is the worst of destinations."
Verse 16:
"Has not the time come for the hearts of those who believe to submit humbly to the remembrance of Allah and to the truth that has been revealed? And let them not be like those who received the Scripture before, then a long period passed over them, and their hearts hardened. And most of them are rebellious."
Verse 17:
"Know that indeed, Allah gives life to the earth after its death. Indeed, We have made clear to you Our signs so that you may reflect."
Verse 18:
"Indeed, those who give charity, men and women, and lend to Allah a goodly loan, it will be multiplied for them, and they will have a generous reward."
Verse 19:
"And those who believe in Allah and His Messenger—these are the Siddiqun (truthful ones) and the witnesses before their Lord. For them is their reward and their light. And those who disbelieve and deny Our signs—they are the inhabitants of the Fire."
Verse 20:
"Know that indeed, the life of this world is only play and amusement, adornment and boasting among you, and rivalry in wealth and children—like rain whose vegetation delights the farmers, then it withers and you see it turn yellow, then it becomes debris. And in the Hereafter is severe punishment, and forgiveness from Allah and His pleasure. And the life of this world is nothing but deceptive enjoyment."
Verse 21:
"Race toward forgiveness from your Lord and a Paradise as vast as the heavens and the earth, prepared for those who believe in Allah and His Messengers. That is the grace of Allah; He bestows it upon whom He wills. And Allah is the Lord of immense grace."
Verse 22:
"No disaster strikes upon the earth or in yourselves but that it is inscribed in the Book (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz) before We bring it into existence. Indeed, that is easy for Allah."
Verse 23:
"(We reveal this) so that you may not grieve over what has escaped you, nor rejoice excessively over what He has given you. And Allah does not love anyone arrogant, boastful—"
Verse 24:
"Those who are stingy and command people to be stingy. And whoever turns away—indeed, Allah is the Self-Sufficient, the Most Praiseworthy."
Verse 25:
"Indeed, We sent Our Messengers with clear proofs, and We revealed with them the Scripture and the Balance (justice), so that people may uphold justice. And We sent down iron, in which lies great strength and many benefits for mankind—so that Allah may know who supports Him and His Messengers, even though He is unseen. Indeed, Allah is Almighty, All-Mighty."
Verse 26:
"Indeed, We sent Nuh and Ibrahim, and placed prophethood and Scripture among their descendants. Among them are those who are guided, and many of them are rebellious."
Verse 27:
"Then We sent after them Our Messengers, and followed (them) with Isa, son of Maryam. And We gave him the Injil, and placed in the hearts of those who followed him compassion and mercy. But they invented monasticism—We did not prescribe it for them—only seeking the pleasure of Allah. Yet they did not observe it as it should have been observed. So We granted to those among them who believed their reward, but many of them are rebellious."
Verse 28:
"O you who believe (in the Messengers), fear Allah and believe in His Messenger. He will give you a double portion of His mercy, grant you a light by which you will walk, and forgive you. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."
Verse 29:
"(We revealed this) so that the People of the Scripture may know that they have no claim over the grace of Allah, and that grace is in the hand of Allah. He bestows it upon whom He wills. And Allah is the Lord of immense grace."
